He said NSCDC was established by law as a public-private partnership agency to assists in the provision of logistics for security agencies in the state to which NSCDC is one of them.

Osasa noted that the fund’s core objective is to ensure that security agencies operating in Delta State have little or no challenges while combating crime in the state in order to facilitate a safe environment for businesses to thrive which will inevitably translate to more job opportunities for Delta youths and more revenue for the state government.

Osasa told the NSCDC Commandant that the Okowa led administration had given out so many vehicles and other logistics to security agencies in the state before now and that with the functioning of DSSTF, security agencies in the state were set to enjoy more support from the state government.

Responding, Eze said, the need for DSSTF cannot be overemphasised as he had been opportuned to served as a Commandant of NSCDC in Cross Rivers State which also has a functional State Security Trust Fund and saw how the security trust fund in that state impacted on that state’s security.

Eze commended the state governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for bringing on board DSSTF, adding that NSCDC will be happy to partner the Trust Fund.

According to Commander Eze, any environment that is not secured was not ready for business.

He said the NSCDC needs equipment and logistics to combat crime effectively and so was looking forward to a great partnership with DSSTF in meeting the NSCDC’s needs.

Eze used the opportunity of the DSSTF’s visit to call for the reintroduction of Urban patrol in Delta State to keep away criminals.
