Acting Governor of Delta State, Mr Kingsley Otuaro, yesterday, said people of Anioma should sustain the prevailing peace as the state government prepares to scale up development across the state.

Otuaro spoke as Organisation for the Advancement of Anioma Culture, OFAAC, led by Kester Ifeadi, paid him a courtesy call where they congratulated Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa and Otuaro on their re-election. The organisation used the avenue to invite the acting governor for OFAAC’s cultural outing scheduled for April 21, 2019.

Thanking the Anioma people for their contributions towards the re-election of Okowa, the acting governor said: “Educational, economic and indeed infrastructural development cannot take place in any entity in an atmosphere of chaos.

“Thank you for the unity and peace OFAAC stands for, which is in tandem with the peace the Okowa-led Delta State administration set out to achieve from inception for development.”

“Government is about adding value to humans. You can’t add value without appreciating the culture of the people. As a government, we came with a well-articulated programme, which included peace across ethnic divides and creation of wealth through various programmes.”

Earlier, President of OFAAC, Mr Ifeadi, said the organisation, founded 16 years ago, had through the propagation of Anioma culture through festivals and activities, fostered peace, unity and progress while honouring the best of Anioma peoples.

“OFAAC has been bridging different cultural divides as it extends hands of fellowship to other ethnic groups in the state.”
