Ajah cult killings: Police arrest two suspects

Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, arrested two suspects in connection with the beheading and killing of four persons at Abraham Adesanya, Ajah area of Lagos State.

The two suspects identified as Saheed Lateef and Julius Augulere, who reside at 13, Obodo Street, Okeira Nla, Langbansa area of Ajah, according to the police, are members of Aye confraternity.

Recall that four people were killed during a clash between rival cult gangs along Abraham Adesanya roundabout, Sunday morning.

Vanguard learned that three of the corpses had machete cuts on their heads, hands and other parts while the head of the fourth corpse was severed from the body.

Confirming the arrest, DSP Bala Elkana, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State,  said “on April 14, 2019, Ogomo police station received a distress call that rival cult groups had a clash of supremacy along Abraham Adesanya, Lekki-Epe expressway and four members of Eiye cult were killed by Aye members.

“Two suspects have so far been arrested. Also, a blood-stained axe was recovered from the suspects. The two suspects have confessed to the commission of the crime.

The four corpses have been evacuated and deposited at the public mortuary. The command has launched a manhunt of the other fleeing cult members.”
