The topic; Brand Nigeria: Ignite, is targeted at looking at the nation with a cursory focus on what and why it has not moved beyond the point it is presently in.

With the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as the chief host, the organizers selected a notable professor emeritus and constitutional lawyer, Professor Akin Oyebode as the speaker.

Professor Oyebode’s effort as a consultant to the African Union (AU) charged with the task of drafting the Convention on Cross-border Cooperation in Africa makes him an authority to treat the issue of Nigeria as a brand.

He is also an external examiner to many universities at home and abroad and is a member of the Board of Directors of the African and African-American Foundation on Science, Education and Economic Development (AFSEED) Inc., New York.

According to the President of the Association and the host of the event, the lecture series has become an authority for communicators and the Alumni association promises to hold the lecture every first quarter of the year henceforth so it can help governments set up and adjust policies to grow the nation.

The lecture will be chaired by Sir   Steve Omojafor, a veteran brand expert. Amongst the panelists are Mr Jimi Awosika, Vice Charman Troyka group, owners of Insight/Redefini agency, Associate Prof Oluyinka Esan from the University of Winchester, United Kingdom, and Mr Simon Kolawole, the Managing Editor of Cablenews online newspaper.
