Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has dominated Bayelsa State House of Assembly, winning 19 seats, while All Progressives Congress, APC, won four seats of the 24 state constituencies.
Also, Mr. Abdullahi Sabo of PDP was declared winner of the supplementary poll for Kuje Area Council, FCT.
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had so far concluded elections in 23 of the 24 constituencies and one on hold due to court order in Bayelsa State.
INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in Bayelsa State, Mr Monday Udoh, said while declaring the results of the supplementary election, yesterday, in Yenagoa, that PDP defeated APC in the two constituencies where the elections were held on Saturday.
“In Southern-Ijaw constituency IV, PDP polled 27, 162 to win APC that got 20, 886, while in Ogbia constituency II, PDP also polled 8, 984 to defeat APC that got 3, 038,” the REC said.
In FCT, declaring the result, the Returning Officer, Professor Titus Ibekwe, said Sabo polled 19,090 votes, to defeat Abdulahi Galadima of APC, who scored 15,187 votes. The SDP candidate polled 4,274 votes.
