By John Egbokhan,
Super Eagles and Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has been warned to shape up if he must get priority place in the national team and club set-up.
Handing down this tough stance yesterday, Eagles Manager Gernot Rohr said it was important for the UAE 2018 Under-17 top scorer to rediscover his scoring prowess before being declared surplus to requirement for both club and country.
Speaking on Iheanacho’s non-invitation for yesterday’s AFCON qualifier against Seychelles and next Tuesday’s international friendly against Egypt, Rohr told reporters here in Asaba that ‘’I told Kelechi why he was not listed for the matches. One of the reasons is because I want to offer opportunities to other strikers that I have not tried.
‘’Iheanacho is playing for a club with a new manager and because he has not been scoring, it is important for him to remain there so as to gain confidence of the coach . I am not really satisfied with his performance and his professionalism . I am not being funny about this and expect him to show more desire in this regard quickly’’, added Rohr.
