PORT HARCOURT—THE Police have arrested no fewer than 19 students of the Rivers State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Rumueme, Port Harcourt, Rivers State over cultism.

The development caused panic yesterday, as students of the institution protested, blocking the major entrance to the college, demanding the immediate release of the affected students.

It was gathered that complaints had been lodged with the Police by the college, over the strange activities of some students. Following the complaints, policemen had gone to the school to investigate the development and arrested the suspects.

Contacted, Public Relations Officer of the College, Mr. Paul Bazia, confirmed the development, adding “the boys were arrested by the Police following reports of cultism against them. The boys arrested were alleged to be cultists, so Police picked them for investigation.
