PORT HARCOURT – There is palpable panic at Polo Club area of Port Harcourt as Pro-African Action Congress, AAC, and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP supporters defy Rivers State Government ban set to commence protest.

There are indications that both groups may clash at the scene of the protest.

The Commissioner of Information and Communications in the state, Emma Okah, had in a statement yesterday in Port Harcourt, disclosed that government has ordered end to every form of protest in the state.

But Pro-AAC supporters in the early hours of today, gathered in front of Polo club in GRA Phase to take protest to the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Aba-Port Harcourt express way.

When the news of the planned protest filtered out, supporters of the PDP also have moved in converging at the same venue in droves.

Journalists and business owners around the area are skeptical that there may be clash following the two teams gathering at the same scene.

However, fierce looking police team have been mobilised to the area, probably to maintain peace.

Leader of the police team has advised the both protesting groups to avoid clashing.
