Onuachu strikes down Pharaohs of Egypt in Asaba

Towering above all the players on the pitch Super Eagles, new comer Paul Onuachu scored an eight seconds goal in the international friendly between Nigeria and Egypt at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba, Delta State yesterday.

Onuachu who made his debut as a sub when the Super Eagles beat Seychelles 3-1 in the African Cup of Nations qualifier last Friday, raced on to a pass from John Ogu, outwitted Egyptian defender Mahmoud Trezeguet, picked his spot and fired home from outside the box.

After that 8th seconds goal the Eagles pushed on and Alex Iwobi was almost getting the second but was denied by keeper Genesh Mahmoud.

Iwobi was on hand again for a second try after a solo effort from Henry Onyekuru, however, the Arsenal winger’s shot was blocked by Tarek Hamed.

In the second half the Egyptians came strongly into the game and Ikechukwu Ezenwa who came for Daniel Akpeyi was brilliant making a flying save from a long range shot and then closing down the  rebound by Amr Wada.
