THE re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa lends credence to the reality that Deltans, across political divides, have overwhelmingly endorsed Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, established rotation equity in the governance of Delta State.
Governorship candidate of the Movement for Restoration and Defense of Democracy, MRDD, Lucky Oyovwin, said this in Warri, in his post-governorship election appraisal in the case of Delta.
He said: “With Okowa’s victory, Delta has completed a full circle of equitable rotation of the governorship among the three senatorial districts, Central, South and North. By robustly supporting Okowa in the last elections, it means Deltans have fully embrace Equity, Peace and Unity.
“Okowa will improve on his first term scorecard as he extends his ‘SMART’ agenda to every ‘nook and cranny of the state. My desire is for the ‘Prosperity for All Deltans’ drive to permeate the entire state.”
He hailed Okowa for promising, during his second term victory speech, to embrace collaboration, inclusiveness and participatory leadership, saying such progressive approach is in line with global best practice as world leaders including Theresa May have been setting similar examples.
