Intending pilgrims from Lagos State have been urged to complete their hajj fare on or before April 15th to enable the State Board make necessary arrangements in the holy land for the 2019 Hajj exercise.
This appeal was made by the Board Secretary, Mr. Ishola Rahman in his office while addressing the appointed Coordinators for different local governments at the Old Secretariat, GRA, Ikeja, recently.
Mr. Ishola said the appeal became necessary to aid the smooth operation of this year’s hajj operation and to pave the way for early payments for standard accommodation, quality tent in Mina and other necessary facilities in Saudi Arabia.
The Board Secretary observed that late payment have been identified as the major cause of hitches at the holy land in previous hajj operations.
He also hinted that Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is fully ready for the biometric capturing but awaits the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to announce the date.
Mr. Ishola also called on intending pilgrims to be fully prepared for the usual weekend lectures, which are designed to equip them with the basic Islamic knowledge and skills required to perform hajj in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that the exercise will start soon at the various local government secretariats across the state.
Meanwhile, sales and submission of forms are still ongoing at the Board just as medical tests are being conducted for the intending pilgrims at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
