Gov Bello assures of more dividend of democracy

Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has re-assured people of the state that he will justify the confidence reposed in him by the electorate in re-electing him for a second term of four years.

The governor, who spoke in Minna, while receiving stakeholders who paid him solidarity visits after his victory at Saturday’s poll, promised that he would focus more on the ongoing projects his administration started and embark on new people-oriented ones.

He said: “In our next four years in office, we will consolidate on what we have started so that we don’t leave anything unfinished as well as identify key areas we need to improve on.”

He expressed satisfaction on the outcome of the elections and commended the people of the state for the level of confidence reposed in him, saying: “I am very happy with the outcome of the election and from the number of votes we got, it shows the confidence Nigerlites have in this administration and we will not disappoint you.”

Meanwhile, Niger East senator-elect, Alhaji Mohammed Musa, has congratulated the governor on his re-election.

In a statement he signed, the senator-elect said the re-election of the governor was a clear testimony of his general acceptance by the people just as he advised him to maintain the trend for more dividend of democracy.

He said: “I believe that Governor Abubakar Bello has shown commitment towards the realisation of APC’s change mantra, which is geared towards transforming Nigeria and Niger State in particular through robust economic programmes and policies that have direct bearing on the general well-being of the people.”

He called on the governor to put aside all differences and forget the bitterness expressed by the opposition during electioneering campaign and carry everyone along irrespective of their political leaning for the progress of the state.
