VICE Chancellor of Elizade University, llara – Mokin, Ondo State, Prof Olukayode Amund, has said that the institution would continue to maintain zero-tolerance for anti- social behaviours by students.
Amund spoke at the institution’s 7th matriculation ceremony.
300 students took the matriculation oath at the ceremony.
He noted that such anti-social behaviours include cultism, hooliganism, examination malpractices, drug abuse and prostitution.
“The university has enjoyed relative peace over the years and you are therefore advised to keep to the matriculation oaths and stay away from any activity (s) that will constitute a threat to the peace of this noble institution of learning”, the VC said.
“Any manifestation of such ills shall be dealt with in accordance with the university rules and regulation.
Amund asked the new students to face their studies and shun any act that could jeopardize their aspiration to obtain a certificate from the institution.
“The distance between matriculation and convocation is wide; determination and seriousness are required to end well.
“ The rights and privileges of course can be withdrawn if the conduct of the students is found to be inimical to the well-being of the institution.
According to him, the institution, established in 2012, had maintained a steady academic calendar and has 25 fully accredited programmes in five facilities as against the 13 it started with.
