Security sources and Muyiwa Adekeye, Special Adviser to governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El Rufai, have dismissed the rumour swirling around that the governor was involved an accident while returning from Kano state.
On his verified Twitter handle @MuyiwaAdekeye , the special adviser said though the governor was at a post-election reception in Kaduna, that there was no truth to the rumour about his accident.
“While Malam Nasir @elrufai was at post-election reception in Kaduna on Sunday night, some liars placed him in Kano. Now, they are spreading tales that he was involved in a fatal accident.
“Hatred is not political strategy!” he tweeted.
Similarly, highly placed security sources told Vanguard that contrary to the rumour, the governor departed Abuja on Wednesday for Dubai aboard Emirate airlines flight.
One source at the government house, Kaduna told Vanguard that the governor is expected back to the country early next week.
The social media have been agog with news of El Rufai’s alleged involvement in an accident with one user claiming that his driver died on the spot while the fate of El Rufai was unknown.
