Amidst the hue and cry over the not-so inspiring performance against Seychelles in last Friday’s 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying match at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Manager Gernot Rohr has assured cynical fans that they would see a rebranded and turbocharged Eagles team when they confront Egypt in an international friendly on Tuesday.

The three-time African champions laboured to a 3-1 victory against the tiny Ocean Island team to seal their top spot in the AFCON campaign and speaking to reporters during a chat, Rohr said his boys  would raise their game against Egypt.

‘’This is not to disparage the Seychelles team but we just had to play within the limitations around us. We wanted to be more expressive but as a footballer and now a coach, you sometimes find that you can only give as far as the opposition will permit you. They were defensive but we still managed to score three goals.

“I know that Nigerian fans love to see free-flowing football full of goals and entertainment and I am sure they would see a good dose of that against Egypt on Tuesday.

‘’The Seychelles game was important as we wanted to win to guarantee top place in the group, which we have achieved and it has given us a good momentum going into the friendly against Egypt, which I believe will be explosive and interesting”, added Rohr.
