ENUGU – ENUGU State Police Commissioner, Sulaiman Balarabe has condemned the murder of Psychiatric Health Officer, Mrs, Maria Amadi on Thursday last week by suspected gunmen.
It was gathered that suspected gunmen in a navy blue vehicle had allegedly shot at the victim severally as she was entering her compound at Federal Housing axis of Trans Ekulu Enugu in the evening of Thursday, thereby leaving her unconscious before they escaped.
It was also gathered that she was rushed to Esut Hospital, Parklane for medical attention and was later confirmed dead.
CP, Balarabe disclosed that two persons in connection with the murder has been arrested while assuring that the Command would arrest any other person linked to the murder.
According to a statement by police spokesman, Ebere Amarizu, “The Enugu state commissioner of police Sulaiman Balarabe has expressed displeasure on the reported murder of Maria Amadi at Federal Housing axis of Trans Ekulu Enugu on 21/3/19 by suspected gunmen.
“Following the development, she was subsequently rushed to Esut Parklane for medical attention and was later confirmed dead.
“On receipt of the report, the commissioner of police Sulaiman Balarabe has directed the state Criminal Investigations Department Enugu state to commence a full scale investigations which has given birth to the arrest of two vital suspects in connection with the dastard act.
“The suspects are now helping the operatives in their investigations.
“The commissioner of police has further assured that any further person linked to the said crime will be arrested, investigated and be brought to book just as manhunt on the remaining fleeing suspects have been intensified”, the statement reads.
