Agagu’s wife, others make case for women in nation-building

The wife of a former governor of Ondo State, Chief (Mrs). OlufunkeAgagu, Doctor Bridget ItsueliPhd, Founder, Relate African Organisation, Lion Lynda OduOkpeseyi, Constitutional Area Speaker, New Voices For English West African Countries, and Lion (Mrs.) KemiSarumi, Chairperson, New Voices, Women Symposium Committee, among others, have urged women, irrespective of religious, tribal or political divide, to brace up against obstacles militating the role of women in nation-building.

They also pleaded with those in authority to encourage women to play leading roles in the society.

They spoke at the New Voices 2019 Lions International District 404B-2 Nigeria Symposium held under the theme: The Role of Women In Nation Building and presided over by the District Governor, Lion Modupe Dada, in Lagos. While berating the relegation of women to the back background in nation-building, they stressed  the need to adequately highlight such women of sterling qualities to navigate the Nation’s Administration rather than their confinement only to home affairs. They said that since ‘charity begins at home,’ it was pertinent for men to encourage women to assist in  nation building.
