The AAC through its candidate, Prince Igho Sadjere in a statement Thursday in Abuja said INEC’s declaration of Efe Afe of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP as winner of the federal constituency election is an aberration and not a true reflection of what took place on that said day.
According to him, “results collated by African Action Congress AAC agents who monitored the election showed that a lot of polling units were won by our party and did not correspond with the Independent Electoral Commission INEC results”.
The statement added further; “The election cannot be said to be free and fair as it was characterized by lots of irregularities as most of our supporters were disenfranchised, especially brazen vote buying, and manipulation of results, were perpetrated by thugs and agents of People Democratic Party PDP and the All progressive Congress APC under the watchful eyes of the Independent National Electoral Commission and security officials.
“We have no doubt that if it was a free and fair contest, INEC would be announcing our party as winner and not Mr. Efe Afe of the People Democratic Party PDP as declared.
“We therefore reject the results in totality and INEC’s declaration of Efe Afe of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as winner.
“While African Action Congress (AAC) is collating evidences of the widespread irregularities which will be useful for litigation, we therefore urge our teeming supporters to remain calm while we take steps to reclaim our stolen mandate. we therefore say the result as announce by The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) is unacceptable as all parties involved will hear from us soon”, he added.
