Following the announcement of the February 23rd presidential election, Nigerians on social media have disagreed on who handled the electioneering process better between Professor Attahiru Jega and Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
In a poll conducted on Twitter and Facebook by Vanguard with over a million reactions and engagements, Some Nigerians highlighted what they considered the major strengths and weaknesses of the two Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairmen.
Bén Hémán on Facebook said: ” Jega brought PMB into power while Mahmood keeps him in power. Both are genius!”
Victor Bonyi also said that “both work under different circumstances Jega worked with someone who wants to improve the system not minding his own favor or… While Mahmood works with someone who wants all things to favor him not minding the improvement of the system.”

Taiwo Odusola, another Facebook user explained that “You guys tried but, we need to upgrade to electronic voting system by 2023 to avoid rigging during an election.
Eleky Kelechi also agreed that “both are at least their equations gave the same answer. I think they perfect.”
Also, Kola Babatunde said: “May God forgive whoever against them because it is what they brought they announced.”
On Twitter, respondents had a different opinion as they were more precise about their preferred INEC boss.
I picked Jega not that Mahmoud doesn't performed very well, bt Jega pave the way for him, both of dem did so well based on Nigeria standard and kudos to our @nysc_ng guys for doing so well too
