YENAGOA-THERE was an exodus of people from Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital to the hinterlands ahead of Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections.


Political parties and politicians in the state, it was learnt are facilitating the transportation of people with Permanent Voter Cards PVCs to enabled them get to their polling places, particularly those who are from areas that require huge transport fares.

As early as 8:am residents were seen trooping to various loading points including camapaign offices, and hotels owned by some top politicians in the state were vehicles have been stationed. There was also massive movement of people at the various motor parks in the city.

The different jetties scattered within the state capital were also a beehive as commuters hurry to catch free boats hired by political parties and politicians for the elections.
