ABUJA—PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari is awaiting the confirmation of Elias Mbam as the Chairman, Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC.
Buhari had in a letter dated 25th January, addressed to the Senate President , also sent 30 other names for screening as Commissioners of the Commission.
The letter is titled, “Request for confirmation of appointment of chairman and. commissioners for the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.”
According to Buhari; “In accordance with the provision of Section 154(1) of Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), I write to forward to the Senate for confirmation, the underlisted names of thirty (30) nominees as Chairman and Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission. Their Curriculum Vitaes are attached herewith.”

Some of the names sent as Commissioners for the Commission, include: Chris Alozie Akomas, Abia; Ayang Sunday Okon, Akwa Ibom; Chima Philip Okafor, Anambra; Prof. Isa B. Mohammed, Bauchi; Samuel Adaa Maagbe, Benue; Ntufam Eyo NSA Whiley, Cross River; Andrew Ogheneovo Agbaga, Delta and Patrick Nworu Mgbebu, Ebonyi.
Others are Victor Ebiogbe, Edo; Amujo Philip Ajayi, Ekiti; Mrs Maria Chinyere Aniobi, Enugu; Hon. Musa Tanko Abari, FCT; Mohammed Kabeer Usman, Gombe; Alhaji Ahmed Mahmoud Gumel, Jigawa, among others.
The letter would be read on the floor of the Senate when the Senators resume from the Presidential and National Assembly break, February, 26, 2019.

Recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had in July 2016, approved the re-appointment of Elias Mbam as Chairman, RMAFC after his first tenure that ended in November 2015.
A former Finance Minister of State from Ebonyi State, like his predecessor, Hamman Tukur, who had served two-term tenure, Mbam is also an electrical engineer.
