APC chieftain wants court to void candidacy of SDP HoR candidate

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Awherenovwe Andrew, is asking an Abuja  Federal High Court to nullify the candidacy of the Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu House of Representatives candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Solomon Ahwinahwvi,  for allegedly presenting false documents  to INEC.

If President Buhari signed amended electoral act bill into law . .

The APC chieftain is also seeking an order nullifying forthwith the purported nomination   and perpetual injunction restraining the SDP candidate who is the first defendant in the suit with the SDP and INEC being second and third defendants respectively.


In his originating summons, the plaintiff claimed  that the defendant did not meet the requirement of the 1999  Constitution to contest the 2019 general elections.

Other injunctions being sought  by the plaintiff include “a declaration that the first defendant stand automatically disqualified from contesting the forthcoming 2019 general election into the national assembly for reason that he has a perjured and presented false information and forged certificates, at least as respect his educational qualification”.
