Seasoned Nigerian music video director, Avalon Okpe, has argued that it is practically impossible to stop the age long practice of nudity, butt shaking and explicit content in Nigerian music videos.

He made the argument while responding to Mex Ossai, the CEO of MEX Films, who advised young generation music video directors to quit shooting music with butt shaking and nudity.

“Dear new music video directors, we’re a creative industry so please clean images have been activated a long time ago. Ass shaking, nudity, fluorescent lights are gimmicky and getting fossilized. 2019 is upon us”, Mex wrote.

In his response to his colleague’s advice, Avalon Okpe explained why it is impossible to shoot butt shaking and nudity free music videos in Nigeria.

“Ass shaking? How will that one stop in Nigeria when half of the songs we hear every day have ass shaking and drinks as major content? Tell our musicians to leave babes and drinks alone and sing something else”, he argued.
