SAINT Joseph’s Chosen Church of God, SJCCG, has announced a successor to the late Spiritual Leader of the Church, Apostle Hayford Ikponmwonsa Alile who died after a brief illness on October 1, 2018 at the age of 80. A statement signed by the Secretary General of the Church, Apostle Levi Ogbonna says the new spiritual leader is Apostle Wilfred Omoregie, reports SAM EYOBOKA.

According to the statement, the Secretary General said: “Arising from a well deliberated joint meeting of the Ecclesiastical Council and Board of Governors of the church held at the Church Central Cathedral, Benin City on Sunday, November 11, 2018, I have been directed to delightfully announce the emergence of Apostle (Dr.) Wilfred U. Omoregie, JP, As the new spiritual leader od St. Joseph’s Chosen Church of God.”

The three paragraph letter addressed to all branches of the church, all apostles and made available to Sunday Vanguard by the Secretary General further said: “Apostle (Dr.) Omoregie was not only among the first five apostles ordained by the founder, late Apostle Joseph Ikechiuku at the 1990 Ugbeze Conference and ranked in order of seniority, he also has a long standing pedigree going back to his valued contributions towards the development and growth of the church.

“Our all knowing God had earlier urged everyone to join hands in lifting the golden chair higher,” Apostle Ogbonna stated, wishing the new spiritual leader God’s guidance and protection, Divine wisdom, longevity and strength to carry out this onerous responsibility.

The pioneer Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and spiritual leader of the St. Joseph Chosen Church of God, Apostle Hayford Alile who was described as a rare gem died on October 1 and was buried in his private home in Benin City on November 9, 2018.

“As a state and country, we have lost a rare gem in the transition of Pa Alile, but we are consoled by the godly life he led and the indelible marks he left in the minds and hearts of millions of people,” Gov. Godwin Abaseki of Edo State said.

Obaseki maintained that “Pa Alile was a courageous and incorruptible profess-ional, who championed the global outlook of the NSE through several reforms and pioneered the revolution-ary ideas which positioned the Exchange to international standard.”
