ENIN—EDO State chapter of Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, Thursday, called on candidates ahead of 2019 general election to ensure their campaigns are issues based.

It also said it was supporting Dr. Joseph Ikpea, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Esan South-East and Esan North-East federal constituency for 2019 election, saying he has the capacity to give adequate representation to the people of the constituency.

A statement by CNPP Chairman in the state, Prince Roy Orhibabhor, said the decision to endorse Ikpea was taken after a meeting of CNPP in Benin.

According to him, “it has become necessary to inform the people of Esan South-East and Esan North-East federal constituency that Dr. Joseph Ikpea is best and proper person to represent them in the House of Representatives and he is hereby endorsed based on his great intellect, audacious vision, effective performance and physical courage to agitate for the downtrodden based on his track records over the years.

“Ikpea will provide quality representation, so we call on all contestants to be law abiding because Edo people deserve good and quality representations at all level of government and governance.”
