The Anglican Bishop of the Lagos Diocese, Dr. Humphrey Olumakaiye, has asked Nigerian leaders to serve the nation with a Christlike heart.
Speaking during his visit across 96 parishes of Anglican churches in Lagos, Olumakaiye said: “ Politicians should toss away every habit of greediness and move closer to God. If politicians are Christlike, Nigeria will be great again because God is interested in the greatness of Nigeria.”
The bishop disclosed plans by the Church to establish a centenary city as the Anglican Lagos Diocese celebrates her 100 years.” By the special grace of God, next year, the Lagos Diocese will be 100 years old and we will be celebrating the centenary celebration in a very big way and part of the centenary celebration is that we will establishing a centenary city in Lagos.
Within the city, we will have rehabilitation centre, entrepreneurship centre , convention centre, international health centre, amusement park and our long term project of our own university. The celebration will commence from January to December 2019,” Makaiye said.
