PORT HARCOURT—Senator Magnus Abe(APC Rivers South-East), has insisted that the crisis rocking his party, All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State is unnecessary.

This is just as Abe gave law school grants to 50 law graduates from his senatorial district during the fifth Edition of Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe Annual Support Law School Students of Rivers South-East Senatorial District in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of his faction of APC in the state, Abe who is also a factional governorship candidate of the party for the 2019 elections, stated that the quarrels between the leaders of the party was uncalled for if the actual thing was done.
According to Abe, “we will continue to insist that the APC crisis in Rivers State is totally unnecessary. It was uncalled for and there was absolutely no need for it.
“But people, in their quest to satisfy whatever ego that drives men at every point in time, created artificial disunity among members of the party.”
Abe, who stated that he remained the candidate of the party for the election, urged his loyalists and leaders of his faction to respond to any invitation by the national reconciliation committee of the party if they receive any.
His words: “We decided that for the sake of this party, for the sake of those who have invested their lives in Rivers State APC, we must do whatever we can to see that the party is not destroyed in the state.
“I want to appeal to everybody: we are loyal members of APC and if we are invited by the Committee to hear from us, I think that we should be very eager to take our case before the party.”
