Muslim groups improve understanding of Islamic values

A coalition of four Islamic Organisations, under the auspices of 1Ummah, has pledged to improve understanding of Islamic values through social and academic interactions.

The Amir of 1Ummah, Sheikh Abubakar Muhammad gave the assurance at a two-day 2018 4th Annual Peace and Unity Convention, organised by the coalition, on Saturday in Abuja.

Newsmen report that the theme of the convention is “The Muslim Home-Bedrock of a Successful Society and the Quest for Balance“.

Muhammad said the coalition would teach Islam and promote a healthy Muslim society with a view to enhance harmonious relationship between Muslims and Christians in the country.

“As a group, we strive to bring professionalism into our events, which are all benchmarked to global standard.

“1Ummah has held series of lectures, events and carried out charity works in difference parts of the country, with main charity project being the Scholarship Initiative for less privileged.

“Presently, we are catering for over 300 orphaned and vulnerable children in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),“ Muhammad said.

In a lecture titled, ‘The Power of Intentional Living: Examining Hadith 1 of An-Nawawi’s’, Sheikh Sulaiman Ravat admonished Muslims to ensure good intention in all their undertakings.

Ravat noted that in Islam, intention was one third of faith, saying “our action should be driven by good intention”.

He, however, said that good intention does not turn what was prohibited to be acceptable in Islam.
