ENUGU—On this year’s Eid-el Maulud, marking the birthday of the Holy Prophet of Islam Muhammad, PBUH, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi have called on all Nigerians to remain prayerful and committed in their abiding faith in God for the sustenance of peace, unity and progress of the country.

Ugwuanyi, who felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari and other Muslim faithful, noted that the occasion “is another opportunity to continue to uphold the deeds and teachings of the Holy Prophet, which border on faith, sacrifice, obedience, love, tolerance, charity and peaceful co-existence, among others.”

He wished all Nigerians a peaceful and pleasant celebration.

In his Eid-el Maulud message, former Governor of Anambra State and the Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, Mr. Peter Obi called on Muslims to emulate Prophet Mohammed in his belief in peace and to also work collectively toward achieving that. He also called on Nigerians to take whatever opportunity that calls to think about the problems confronting the country and how they can individually contribute to their solutions.
