Delta APC stakeholders will not withdraw Court cases

*Charge NWC to approach equity with clean hands
Leaders and stakeholders of the mainstream All Progressive Congress, APC, Delta State chapter, have condemned the attempt by the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to intimidate and blackmail aggrieved party members into withdrawing their court cases, instead they charged the NWC to come to equity with clean hands following the crisis rocking the party in different states.

The leader and stakeholders in a statement signed by the state factional Chairman, Cyril Ogodo after an emergency meeting held at Ughelli, Ughelli North local government, noted that APC is built on justice and equity.

They further stated that rather than issuing threat of sanction for members who have taken the option of going to court to seek readdress, over perceived injustice done to them, the NWC should look inward and reinvent itself, noting that; “you cannot beat a child and stop him from crying .”

They tasked the NWC to apply diplomacy in resolving the crisis in the party at all levels, rather than resorting to act of intimidation and blackmail, adding that dictatorship is an aberration in democracy and the only way to stop dictatorship is through the court of law.

According to them: “the NWC as presently constituted, with particular reference to the situation in Delta State APC chapter, lacks the moral right to asked party members not to continue in court wereas the first official assignment of the NWC led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was to rush to court to obtain a “continuous consent judgment” against perceived ‘Oyegun state executives’ in Delta without using nor exhausting internal party mechanism.

“So, those going to court today to seek redress and upturn the infamous consent judgement should be commended and not vilified or sanctioned for following the precedent set by the party’s National Chairman on assumption of office when he unilaterally went to court, an action the members of the NWC are not on record to have frown at.

“Today, if the NWC want aggrieved members to withdraw their cases from court, the party NWC should wake up from their present slumber and act as a clearing house for justice by listening and addressing concern of members by staying neutral and stop been partisans in the crisis rocking the party.

“As a matter of fact they, have to review the foundation of the crisis rocking the party in Delta state which is traceable to the unilateral decision by the party’s national chairman to hand over the party to a faction of Labour Party that joined APC in 2016, and shutting out the mainstream of the party.

“If they want members to withdraw their cases in court, let the NWC immediately undo the vexatious consent judgement obtained by Chairman Oshiomhole which is at the root of the crisis, for as the saying goes, he that must come to equity, must come with clean hands.

“The NWC cannot probate and reprobate, it’s against the law of natural justice to beat a child and also stop him from crying, to do that is to ask for anarchy. APC NWC must be guided by the party’s constitution, the country’s laws and the laws of natural justice” they concluded.
