Abuja—The National Working Committee, NWC, of All Progressives Congress, APC, has approved the formation and composition of a National Peace and Reconciliation Committees for each geo-political zone.
This, according to a statement by Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, is in recognition of the need to address the post-primary elections disputes in the party.
Issa-Onilu said that the party’s National Chairman, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, would inaugurate the committees today.
Members of the committee for the North West zone include Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State as chairman; Governors Mohammed Abubakar, Yahaya Bello, of Bauchi and Kogi states respectively; Senators Adamu Aliero, Danjuma Goje, Jim Nwobodo and Amb. Fati Bala.
For the South East, the members include Governor Abdullahi Ganduje as chairman; Governors Samuel Lalong and Kayode Fayemi of Plateau and Ekiti states respectively, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Alhaji Umaru Dembo, Alhaji Nasiru Koki and Mrs. Ify Okoye. Committee members for the South West are Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State as chairman, Governors Nasiru el Rufai and Akinwumi Ambode of Kaduna and Lagos states respectively, Senator Ken Nnamani, Prof. Modupe Adelabu, Dr Dakuku Peterside and Senator Seida Bugaje
The North West has Governor Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State as chairman, Governors Godwin Obaseki, Rotimi Akeredolu and Jibrilla Bindow of Edo, Ondo and Adamawa states, Chief Pius Akinyelure, Barr. (Mrs) Vivian Chukwuani and Chief Audu Ogbe.
Members of the committee for the South South include Governor Rauf Aregbesola as chairman, Governors Atiku Bagudu and Abubakar Bello of Kebbi and Niger states,
Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Mr Emeka Wogu, Mr Sullivan Chime and Mrs Aleluchi Cookey-Gam.
In the North East, the committee has Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State as chairman, Governors Aminu Masari and Abubakar Badaru of Katsina and Jigawa states.
