TO face next elections with a united front, leaders of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Anambra State have resolved their feud and presented Chief Tony Chukwuelue as the Anambra Central senatorial candidate
Addressing party faithful in Awka, yesterday, during the formal presentation of Chukwuelue as Anambra Central senatorial candidate of the party, Sen Annie Okonkwo expressed joy that every shade of division within the party had been nipped in the bud.
Okonkwo described the party as one indivisible family and urged all citizens of the state, especially Anambra Central to vote SDP, which he said was committed to the welfare and progress of the masses.
According to him, “I saw the vision of the return of SDP nine months ago. It was where I started my political career years ago. Our collective aim today is to pull efforts together and sweep the stakes at the polls.
“SDP in Anambra is so lucky to have two senators -myself from Idemili South and Chief Ikeyina, our Deputy National Chairman from Awka North. We will win the Anambra Central Senatorial seat and the Idemili Federal Constituency and with the speed with which we are spreading we will envelope other areas soon.”
