Don’t truncate judicial process, A-Court warns Rivers APC factions

By Davies Iheamnachor
ORT HAR-COURT— An Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has advised the Ojukaye Flag-Amachree and Peter Odike factions of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state not to take any step that would truncate the court process on the matter.

A three-man Appeal panel led by Justice Isaiah Akeju, gave the advice yesterday when the matter came up.

Akeju, who addressed the parties on behalf of the panel granted the application of Henry Bello, counsel for the respondents, which sought the court to adjourn the matter sine die or to a later date pending the determination of his appeal at the Supreme Court.

Akeju, however, adjourned till 22 October for the hearing of the substantive matter and ordered the parties not to take any further step that will affect the subject of the matter in court.

Earlier, Chimenem Wisdom Jerome, who held brief for counsel for the Appellant Lateef Fabemi, SAN, had urged the court to grant an order for the parties to maintain status quo as it was before October 10, 2018, when the lower court made its pronouncement against his client.
