A non-governmental organisation , Sing Foundation has urged Nigerians to come out enmass to vote in the coming general election to ensure that there is a violence- free elections , particularly in the Niger Delta region.
This was made known at the launch of its # VoteAMust campaign held in Abuja, today. The organisation called on Nigerians not to relent in its fight to bring in credible leadership that will take the country to its fulfilled destination.
Speaking at the occasion, the Executive director operations, Sing Foundation, Idris Usman urges Nigerians to change the narrative of allowing themselves to be used to perpetrate election violence and vote buying, calling on them that the business of election and democracy belongs to the people.
“Lots of Nigerians are no longer happy with the situation in the country. We need to give them assurances that the security of lives and properties of the people should be the responsibility of the government when they go out to vote. We will continue to pressurize the government until the perpetrators of electoral violence are prosecuted.
“The essence of this campaign is to sound a clarion call to the people by making sure their votes are counted in the next general election. Sing is a pan Niger – Delta organisation , and we have the masses , security, and the authorities to get the dream we have yearned for . This time, the People’s vote must count, ” he insisted
