Indications emerged that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has adopted Dr Tunji Abayomi to replace Boroffice.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Boroffice, Kayode Fakuyi said the Senator “has undergone the screening exercise.”
Fakuyi said: “The media bureau of Senator Ajayi Boroffice has noted recent media exchanges between the two factions of All Progressives Congress in Ondo State over screening of aspirants and other related issues.
“Therefore, it is necessary to inform the general public that Senator Ajayi Boroffice has undergone screening exercise.
“Consequently, the senator received clearance certificate to participate in the senatorial direct primary election scheduled for 2nd of October, 2018 in Ondo State.
“In line with the approval of direct primaries for Ondo State by the National Working Committee, NWC, of the APC, Senator Ajayi Boroffice is upbeat and ready for the election. Indeed, no plot can stop the re-election bid of Senator Ajayi Boroffice.”
Meanwhile, the APC in the state said it was committed to organising a credible primary for all the aspirants.
