Ololade Ebong is an artist from Lagos State and a graduate of Theatre and Performing Arts from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State. In pursuit of her career as Theatre and Performing artist, she was privileged to participate in cinematography practical field workshop at the National Film Institute in Jos, Plateau State. This was where she developed interest in cinematography.

Due to her love for Theatre and Performing Art, Ololade decided to acquire the requisite skills and techniques in telling story through the lens. To achieve her dream career, she enrolled in the famous New York Academy to study Cinematography. Since graduation, she has continued to produce and collaborate to shoot short films and series.

These productions include Art in the dark by Virginia Blatter, Allison by Suknrt Teni among others. Her recent production, The Diary of Bolanle, produced by her and directed by Virginia Blatter, is currently an official selection at the famous film festival – The Cannes Short Film Festival – and is scheduled to be screened on September 6, 2018.

This super short film depicts real life cultural shifts, shocks and challenges of acceptance experienced by the character within few hours of her arrival in the United States.

Thus, Ololade’s The Diary of Bolanle’s official selection at the Cannes could be an indication of the gradual emergence of Nollywood in line with the Michael Chima Ekenyere Ngozi’s article, Cannes is Waiting for Nollywood, Will Nollywood Answer? published August 21, 2014.

Currently, Ololade is involved in DP and production of a number of commercials, musical videos, short films and series.
