Winners emerge at Blooming Minds Young Writers Awards

Muizz Aderinto, an SS2 student of Oke Odo Senior High School, Lagos, and Faith Madamidola, an SS3 student of Lead City International School, Ibadan, emerged winner and  first  runner-up respectively in the creative writing category (Ages 10-15) at the just concluded Blooming Minds Young Writers Awards in Lagos.

In the short stories and poetry category (Ages 6-9), Ogunjobi Mariam and Chioma Obira emerged winner and first runner-up respectively.

The annual competition, organized in Nigeria and Ghana is designed to raise young African leaders by recognizing and rewarding children with creative writing skill. It is opened to kids aged 6 to 15 years, as they compete in creative writing, short stories and poetry.

Speaking, during the Award ceremony, the founder of Blooming Minds Young Writers Awards, Mrs Thelma Ofosu Asamaoh stated that a nation that failed to engage in research and encouraged creative writing is bound to fail.
