We’ve mobilised 60,000 votes for Ayade in Ukelle —Youth leader

By Emma Una

CALABAR—YOUTHS, under the aegis of Ukelle Youths for Ayade,  in Cross River State, yesterday, held a rally to sensitise voters to register and collect their  permanent voter cards to be eligible to vote during the 2019 elections.

Governor Ben Ayade

Mr Emmanuel Asegem,  Coordinator of the rally, said the register-and-collect-your -voter-card campaign was to enable them  vote for Governor Ben Ayade, whom he said  had performed well and needs to be re-elected in 2019 to  continue  with the development of the state.

Asegem who is aspiring  to represent  Yala 11 constituency in the state House of Assembly,   mobilised the youths from across the wards in the constituency to embark on a house-to-house enlightenment of the people of the area.

He said the state witnessed immense  growth in the past three years under the leadership of Governor Ayade and it was necessary  that he returns  in 2019 to complete the good work.

“We have been yearning for roads and other infrastructure in our state and Governor Ayade has constructed roads in virtually all the local government areas of the state along with industries such as  the Banana Processing Factory in Ikom, the rice mill in Ogoja, the cocoa industry and even here in Ukelle, we have a road  from Yahe to Wanihem started in less than a year after the governor assumed office  and construction work  has reached  advanced  stage,” he said.
