By Emma Amaize

KOKO—CHAIRMAN of Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr. Aduge Okorodudu, has resolved the lingering crisis between  impacted Ijaw communities at the Gbetiokun oil exploration field in the area and Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC/Elcrest, which led to the shutdown of operations recently.

Okorodudu, who spoke to reporters after resolving the rift, said: “Peace is the hallmark of development. My administration is determined and passionate to see the total restoration of peace in the area in line with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s SMART agenda.”

He commended the men of 19 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Koko, Department of State Services, DSS, and the Nigeria Police Force “for their efforts in restoring peace to the area.

“I appeal to youths to always channel their grievances to appropriate government agencies rather than take laws into their hands,” he said.
