PASTOR Charles Achonwa, General Overseer of Doulous Ministries, yesterday, charged the 11,250 men and women who were ordained as deacons/deaconesses on the first day of the ongoing 66th annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God holding at the Redemption Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on how to take on mountains.
Speaking on the topic: “Give me this mountain,” Pastor Achonwa who is reputed to have built a legacy by raising servants and ministers for God, charged the newly commissioned deacons/deaconesses, saying they should without any delay imbibe the art of prophetic dominion which, he said, will help them tap into the established mandate of the mission.
Liking their new assignment to that of Caleb and Joshua in the Bible, the seasoned trainer emphasized the need for every Christian to identify the difference between the two and the other 10 who were assigned the responsibility to spy on the land.
According to him, while all the 12 persons were professionally qualified for the assignment, Caleb and Joshua distinguished themselves to give a minority report because they were prophetic in their approach, which was what set them apart from the others.
Drawing inspiration from Joshua 14:12, the cleric pointed out that: “The prophetic will always supersede the professional and then no mountain can withstand you in your assignment within the prophetic mandate already established in the RCCG.
“The mountains before the children of Israel in the passage required Spiritual to bring down. Remember that giants lived there and giants can only dwell in a place fortified by giant walls, and so, if you are able to bring down the giant walls you will not be able to bring down the giants except through some special spiritual force.
“There is no way of using ordinary means to accomplish purely spiritual matters. What God has set before you is an extraordinary task which must be tackled only via an extraordinary force. Being prophetically persuaded is vital to spiritual dominion,” he added, stressing that they must endeavor to align themselves with the prophetic mandate of the church.
THE church, as usual, has assembled an array of highly anointed gospel ministers from across the globe to assist the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye to officiate during this year’s ongoing annual convention at the Redemption Camp on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Leading the pack of officiating ministers is Pastor Adeboye who’s life is a fulfilment of the scriptures in Zechariah 4:10 which declare, “despise not the days of small beginnings”.
Born in 1942 into a humble family in the village of Ifewara, Osun State located in the South-western part of Nigeria, Adeboye often humorously states that his family was so poor that even the poor people called them poor. As a matter of fact, he unashamedly tells his congregation that he never owned shoes until he was 18 years of age. What he possessed though were physical intangibles such as focus, consistency, diligence, ambition, a brilliant mind and a determination to succeed in life.
