Probe assault on Abraka PDP leaders, Ivwurie tells Esiso

By Perez Brisibe

ABRAKA— MEMBER representing Ethiope East constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Evance Ivwurie, has asked the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Mr Kingsley Esiso, to investigate last Sunday’s attack on him and leaders of the party in Abraka by youths, who invaded the venue of a peace meeting convened by the leaders.

Ivwurie in a letter  to the state chairman of the party, called on him to investigate the incident and use the disciplinary apparatus of the party to sanction anyone found culpable in  the ugly incident.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, he said: “It was a premeditated unprovoked attack and an obvious setup against the elders and leaders of the PDP as well as my humble self.”

“As a respected political party with reverence for the rule of law,  this act of misconduct and unprovoked attack and humiliation must be investigated and those culpable sanctioned  to serve as a lesson to others. “
