BENIN—EDO State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, has advised presidential aspirants seeking the party’s ticket to address issues instead of running down one another.

He gave the advice in Benin City, when Senator Muhammed Markafi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar visited the state separately to seek the support of delegates to the party’s convention slated for September, 2018.

Orbih said, “You can see that those of us from Edo State are usually very objective before we take decisions. You are the first set of presidential aspirants to visit our state without a sitting governor, but I want to assure you that the party is very strong here.

“You have given our people food for thought after listening to your speeches. This party is truly blessed because we have the best brains in our party to give Nigerians the leadership they deserve.

“I, therefore, appeal to you our presidential aspirants visiting us to address issues.  Do not run down anybody.   We must run  civilized campaigns and at the end of the day, we will support the person who God wants to use to win the election.”
