ASABA-The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, yesterday frowned at the increasing attack by herdsmen on harmless Urhobos.
He strongly condemned the unprovoked attack by the ravaging herdsmen on one of his constituents, Mr Abraham Onokpasa, which has left him in critical condition at the hospital.
Omo-Agege in a statement made available to the Vanguard, said his constituents who are going about their legitimate business were being attacked by the ravaging herdsmen.
While calling on the police to arrest and persecute any herdsmen involved in the attack, he said; “I condemn in the strongest possible terms the increasing attack of my constituents and the destruction their property.
“The recent invasion of the compound of late Benedict Etedjere Onokpasa by herdsmen is very painful and regrettable”, adding that the perpetrators of the attacks should be brought to justice.
He warned that his constituents will not take it lightly should the police let go of those arrested in connection to this particular attack.
Omo-Agege said, “this is one attack to many, I condemn this unprovoked attack on Onokpasa’s and I want to task the police authority to bring the perpetrators to book by ensuring that they are make to face the full wight of the law.
“I wish to also add that my constituents will not tolerate any attempts to treat this particular case with kid gloves.” Recall that Abraham Onokpasa, the last son of late Benedict Etedjere Onokpasa was attacked by herdsmen and sustained head injury for daring to challenge them for destroying sister’s farm.
