The highly anticipated action/thriller/suspense movie “Klippers” written and directed by Ofu Obekpa, a Nigerian International based in the USA, is set for release in cinemas across Nigeria from August 10th 2018.
Klippers was unveiled at a Private Screening held at Ozone Cinemas. In attendance were notable Media and Entertainment personalities who were impressed by what they watched and indeed showered encomiums on Obekpa. Of note were the amazing choreographed fighting scenes professionally executed Hollywood style, void of the usual child’s play mannerism synonymous with a number of Nigerian movies that have gone down the action path in the past.
The movie unveils an assassin (Ofu Obekpa) sent by his psychotic employer to kill his ex-wife (Libby Blanton). In his quest to accomplish the task, he becomes familiar with his target and this makes his mission difficult. Another hit man (Conphidance) with an intimidating profile known for zero tolerance to mediocrity in the dark business comes to clean house. A series of events triggers a face off as the race to stay alive begins.
The story is refreshingly different and the deployment of ‘proper props’ and locations beautifully brings the script to life. It is obvious that the producer indeed paid attention to the technical details ensuring that these vital elements are at par with the International standard. It is a story of survival, passion and daring to always believe that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. There’s never a dull moment as the acting dexterity of these Hollywood Celebrity actors; WWE lcon Kevin Nash, Nigerian International Conphidance, Award winning actress Libby Blanton and Robert Pralgo (Furious 7, Avengers: Infinity war) coupled with the intermediary suspense and thrillish moments leaves one asking “Who’s next on the Psycho’s list?”
Ofu Obekpa was delighted with the positive reactions that trailed the post screening “I’m truly humbled by the wonderful feedback I have received. It just tells me that when you work hard and produce a fantastic quality based movie, people will appreciate that. Klippers is certainly worth watching in cinemas and I urge many to troop out in mass to watch the movie. In subsequent movie projects, I intend to work with Nollywood actors and also to star in films of producers in the New Nollywood as well.”
Ofu Obekpa has a dream of using his stardom to help less privileged people around the world. Klippers opens in cinemas across Nigeria from August 10th 2018.
