LOKOJA—Concerned Citizens of Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency have called on former House of Assembly member, Chief Akawu Salihu, to show interest in the next year’s House of Representatives elec-tion of the constituency.

They gave Salihu 48 hours ultimatum to make up his mind on the matter, or they will be forced to invade and occupy his residence until he accepts their demand.

The group made their plan known in Lokoja yesterday, while addressing journalists at the NUJ press centre, noting that the call became necessary since the area needed a very vibrant representation in the next dispensation.

Spokesperson of the group, Isiaka Suleiman, noted that it will be a disservice to the people if as concerned members they failed to take the right steps to ensure the area gets the right representation in the next dispensation.

“As concerned members of the constituency, we felt it will be a disservice to our people if we fold our arms to give room for someone who lacks basic knowledge about the plights of our people to become our representative.

“Due to this concern and because of the importance  weattached to having a better and quality representation that will bring the needed development to the area. And having weighed all available options, one man topping the chart, is no other person than Honourable Sheidu Akawu Salihu
