Ex-Agitators  under the aegis of Itsekiri Ex-agitators Forum, have appealed for the quick release of funds to the Amnesty Office for the deployment of ex-agitators to their training centres.

In a statement, Dennis Mene, leader of Itsekiri Ex-agitators Forum, said  that the quick release of the funds will also enable the Amnesty Office pay their bush and in-training allowances for those already in their training centres for sustenance of peace in the region.

He explained that most of the ex-agitators captured in the III, II and I phases have not been completely deployed or mobilized for training, stressing that even those that had been trained have not been reintegrated into the society and if their training are delayed due to funding, it may have a devastating effect on the peace currently being enjoyed in the region.

The ex-agitators commended the current  management of the Presidential Amnesty Programme under the leadership of Professor Charles  Dokubo, for its efforts to make the programme more impactful to the ex-agitators of the region.
