The group called on the National Chairman of APC, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, to ensure the process of getting a candidate is democratic.

They also called on Governor Godwin Obaseki to address the issues in his native Edo South senatorial district and allow Esan people to decide their fate.

In a statement in Benin yesterday, EYM President, Mr. Kingsley Ohens, said the people of Edo Central senatorial district reserve their God-given right to choose and install their leaders at all levels.

He said: “We, Esan people of Edo Central senatorial district, shall resist and reject attempts directly or by proxy to impose candidates on our people in the forthcoming elections into the state and National Assemblies.”
