OLEH—COALITION of Urhobo Youths Organisation, CUYO, yesterday, decried perceived non-consideration of Urhobo indigenes in the employment of junior staff by Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun, Delta State.
The group, in a statement by its Chairman, Mudiaga Abiri, said: “Apart from the immediate host community, Urhobo nation is the major catchment area of PTI.
“In 2007, when the Federal Government attempted to relocate the school to Kaduna, it was the Coalition of Urhobo Youths Organisation, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC and Isoko youths that mobilised to stop the relocation.
“Since then, the Urhobo nation has not been considered in anything employment at PTI.
“We are calling on the Principal/Chief Executive Officer of the institute, Professor Sunny Iyuke to do the needful.”
