Bayelsa community lauds A’Court judgment on disputed SPDC-operated flow station

YENAGOA—THE leadership of Letugbene community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has expressed satisfaction with the Appeal Court judgment in the case with Egbemo-Angalabiri community over the rightful owners of all lands and areas bordering the Tunu Flow Station operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC. 

In a statement in Yenagoa, the Amananawei of Letugbene community, HRH Chief Roman Derabebe and Community Development Committee, CDC, Chairman Mr Bennett Friday, said “the appellate court sitting in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State judgment of July 27, which dismissed the appeal by Egbemo-Angalabiri community has reaffirmed a judgment earlier delivered by the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Kate Abiri on July 30, 2012 in favour of Letugbene community.”
