A Gombe state governorship hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Faruk Bamusa, has donated the sum of 40 million naira to party executives in the state.

The cash gift, according to Bamusa is his contribution towards supporting the party officials to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir in comfort and to strengthen the party.

His words “The party being an opposition party in the state, the leadership deserve all the necessary support to enable them meet up with the challenges of sustaining the party”.

Reacting to the gesture, a coalition of Gombe Youths for All Progressives Congress, expressed gratitude to the gubernatorial aspirant for donating 40 million naira to boost the strength of the party in the state.

Speaking to newsmen in Gombe at the weekend, the leader of the group who simply identified himself as Arch. Umar, said the gesture was commendable, noting that Bamusa is the most qualified and credible candidate to fly the party’s flag to victory in the upcoming election in the state.

“APC in Gombe state needs a very strong, acceptable and credible candidate with intimidating political capital to take the party to the path of victory in the next election, and Faruk Bamusa has all it takes.

“We shouldn’t repeat the mistake of 2015, where we lost, despite the sweeping tide of our great party because we fielded a less popular candidate” Umar noted.
